We recently closed on a very nice HUD property, and when I stopped by to pick up the sign and lock box, I couldn’t help but stop to take a longer look. How beautiful is Oconee County? This photo is the backyard of the neighbor’s house, located in Bogart, Georgia. The new owners of the home we sold are so excited to live near such an oasis. Look at how peaceful the area is!

Get to Know Bogart, Georgia

The town of Bogart was originally named Osceola, after the prominent Creek-Seminole leader. When it was discovered in 1892 that another town in Georgia had the same name, (in Terrell County) city leaders renamed it Bogart, after a respected local railroad agent. The City of Bogart was officially incorporated in 1905.

Bogart is a thriving small town with businesses, a busy city center, and the Bogart Sports and Recreation Complex. To me, Bogart represents the best of Georgia. It’s a friendly, small town hamlet with beautiful landscapes to enjoy, the peace and quiet of country living, and easy access to the activities of more urban areas nearby. Take a look at the City of Bogart’s website to see what we mean.
